Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American artist and actress whose range earned her popular acclaim in various categories ranging from period dramas to thriller and action adventure. Johansson was the daughter of a film producer and an architect, grew up in New York City. Her twin brother Hunter as well as her mother were the youngest siblings. By the age of seven, she was already casting for TV commercials. Then she began her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterwards went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to improve her skills. The Off-Broadway show Sophistry she was in the role of Ethan Hawke at age 8 In North directed by Rob Reiner in 1994 she was the first to appear in a film. Johansson later appeared on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her first big break came with Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. The film received critical appreciation for her portrayal of an adolescent who suffers an unforgiving accident within The Horse Whisperer (1998) and gained more attention for her role as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca In Ghost World (2001). Renee Felice Smith began her professional career at an early age. She was drawn to acting as a young child. Smith was offered her first role at the age of age six with help from her parents. She was the lead in a Dannon commercial for television. She decided, like other actresses making their debut, to work on her abilities in the theatre. She worked on a variety of projects in the USA as she made her stage debut. She studied at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
